Antiquarian Book Fairs Show Schedule for 2003
All contract applications are available online at http://www.bookfairs.com/
Two new antiquarian book fairs have been added to babf's 2003 show schedule. Both of these new shows will be in Manhattan, bringing the total number of shows managed by babf to eight. These will be antiquarian book fairs and book, print and paper shows. The Carriage House Antiquarian Book Fair, New York Autumn Antiquarian Book Fair, and The Greenwich Antiquarian Book Fair are managed jointly with Gary Austin.
On Sunday, March 23rd from 10 AM to 4:00 PM will be the 21st Annual Connecticut Antiquarian Book Fair. Once again this show will be in the Wamogo Regional High School, 98 Wamogo Road (Route 202), Litchfield, Connecticut. This year all of the exhibitors will be moved from two rooms into one large room. The Torrington Historical Society sponsors this event.
The first new show of the season will be The Carriage House Antiquarian Book Fair. It will be in The Altman Building, 135 West 18th Street, New York, New York. The building used to be the carriage house for Altman's. The show will be on Friday, April 11th from 2 PM to 9 PM.
The 24th Annual Portland Book, Print & Paper Show will be on Sunday, June 15th from 10 AM to 3:30 PM. There will be a preview at 8:30 AM for the eager buyers. The Book Print and Paper Show will be in the Portland Exposition Building, 239 Park Avenue Portland, Maine. The Maine Book Dealers Association and The Maine Historical Society will be the sponsors.
On Saturday, July 5th will be the 19th Annual Stockbridge Berkshire Antiquarian Book Fair. This is one of the most popular events with buyers making hotel reservations a year in advance so as not to miss it. The show will start at 10 AM and end at 4 PM. Once more the show will be in the Stockbridge Plain School, Main Street (Routes 7 & 102), Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Gate proceeds benefit The Plain School's Reading-Is-Fundamental program.
The Sheffield Berkshire Antiquarian Book Fair will hold the 11th Annual Show on Saturday, August 9, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. This is a small show with free admission to the public. It will be in the American Legion Hall on Route 7 in Sheffield, Massachusetts.
The second new show for 2003 will be the New York Autumn Antiquarian Book Fair on Friday, September 5th from 5 PM to 9 PM, and on Saturday, September 6th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It will be held in the 69th Regiment Armory at 68 Lexington Avenue, New York, New York.
Wrapping up the show season will be the 4th Annual Greenwich Antiquarian Book Fair. This year the show will be one day on Saturday, October 4th from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It will once again be in The Greenwich Civic Center, 90 Harding Road, Old Greenwich Connecticut.
All contract applications are available online from the site http://www.bookfairs.com/. Discount admission passes to the shows, exhibitor lists, and exhibitor specialties will be posted on the site as the shows draw near.
